Multi-user Virtual Reality App to Train Healthcare Professionals for In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Care
Overview:
This novel VR simulation places a team of four participants in an in-hospital rapid-response style scenario wherein they arrive at the side of a critically ill patient, receive a care report from a bedside nurse, and must collaboratively provide life-saving care during a ~15-minute medical scenario (see short Demo Video. This project, funded by the National Science Foundation (#2202451), aims to develop and evaluate a novel debriefing system that provides data-informed feedback focused on improving team-based care for patients who suffer sudden medical emergencies.

During the study, participants will:
- Wear a VR headset and perform two mock codes with a post-simulation debrief
-
Provide basic demographic information (e.g., age, clinical experience).
- Duration: ~75-90 minutes
- Location: TBD or U-M Clinical Simulation Center (Towsley or Med Sci II)
- To participate in the study, you must be ACLS certified
