The Technology & Innovation in Medical Education Lab

The Technology & Innovation in Medical Education Lab is an interdisciplinary team that researches learning, teams, and educational technology. We primarily solve research problems in the field of health professions education and focus on how healthcare professionals collaborate, make decisions, and influence one another to learn and/or perform together, usually in technology-rich simulated or clinical environments. Our work is situated at the intersection of Learning Sciences, HCI, Artificial Intelligence, and eXtended Reality. We collaborate closely with UM faculty in Computer Science & Engineering, School of Information, School of Dentistry as well as the following Departments in the Medical School: Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology, and Surgery.
